The article is devoted to a theoretical analysis of the development of the basic cognitive processes of modern younger schoolchildren, proceeding in educational activities. The development of the cognitive sphere is one of the most important areas of the modern education system in elementary school, since the cognitive sphere includes the development of all the basic mental processes of a child, which are closely interrelated and play a large role in the success of schooling.

The article presents a study of voluntary self-regulation among students with a tendency to nicotine addiction at the neuropsychological, general psychological and personal levels. The relationship between the state of executive functions, programming, modeling, control and a pronounced desire for socially approved behavior, the need for addictive states associated with “acute” sensations of self-damaging nature, as well as low indicators of volitional control of the emotional sphere and control of behavioral manifestations of emotional reactions.

The article is devoted to the problem of studying the effect of gender on manifestations of value orientations of students of different ethnic groups.
