In the modern volunteer movement, the direction of scientific volunteering is gaining popularity more and more. At Kursk State Medical University, this direction began to develop in 2022. During this time, a number of projects have been implemented aimed at the participation of volunteers in active scientific research. The development of this direction involves an increasing number of volunteers, but the question remains open, what brings them to these studies: interest in science or encouragement by volunteer hours. The clarification of this issue has become the subject of the study of this article. As a result of the analysis, the main motive among KSMU students to participate in research and volunteer projects was the interest of respondents in obtaining volunteer hours. However, most of the participants of these events were satisfied with the organization of scientific research and considered further development prospects in them.
The article presents the experience of the II Social Work Science Festival dedicated to the International Day of the Disabled «Equal but different». The festival was organized by the Department of Social Work and Life Safety of the Kursk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. More than 30 events were held at 8 venues of the centers, educational organizations and social service institutions of the city of Kursk, including Round tables, workshops, scientific discussions, professional meetings, excursions, scientific stand-up shows Science Slam.
The article discusses the results of a study of the identification of depressive states in people with disabilities using the differential diagnosis of depressive states by V. Zung in the adaptation of T.I. Balashova, author William Zung (1965). Based on the results, options for correcting depressive states are presented using the program «Psychological rehabilitation of adults with chronic disabilities (including demyelinating autoimmune disease – multiple sclerosis (MS)». It is possible to continue the research, establish new coping strategies and tools.
The article is devoted to issues of thinking in people with congenital deafness. Attention is paid to the connection between the sign and the concept, as well as to the analysis of the form and content of the concept from the point of view of cultural-historical psychology. From the presented theoretical positions, an attempt is made to come closer to understanding the mechanisms of interaction between concept and sign and, based on this, to understanding the possible causes of disturbances in conceptual thinking in people with congenital deafness.
The main objective of the work is to study the relationship between stress resistance in a new information situation and the characteristics of the psycho-emotional well-being of an individual. Overall, the findings of the research show that stress resistance and psycho-emotional well-being are significantly positively correlated in adults. Moreover, the stress resistance is an important predictor of improved psycho-emotional well-being in adults.
The article is devoted to the analysis of a sociological study of medical and social work with persons with musculoskeletal disorders. The popularity of visiting medical institutions, the use of medical and social services by persons with limited mobility of the musculoskeletal system is considered. Difficult life situations of disabled people are identified. The peculiarities of the perception of sick people and the level of support from the environment are considered. Adaptive technologies that are used in everyday life by people with disabilities are studied.
The article presents the results of a study of the perception of dental care by Russian and foreign students: for foreign students, visits to the dentist for preventive examination are more priority, for Russian students, the need to treat existing diseases and/or take care of the aesthetic component is decisive. The age of the first visit to the dentist was attributed by Russian respondents to the period of formation of lactic and transitional occlusions. According to a survey in a sample of international students, the first visit was carried out during the periods of primary school and adolescence. Compared with the responses of foreign students, among Russian respondents, the most common is «fear when visiting a dentist as a result of childhood experiences and the first experience of visiting a dentist». Due to the difficulties of communication in the doctor-patient system and organizational aspects of dental care (for example, violation of admission time), the percentage of foreign students who are distrustful of dental services in Russia is high.
