Abstract

Relevance. In modern science and practice, certain experience has been accumulated in studying various aspects of social, psychological, and socio-psychological work with participants in hostilities. A socially significant problem in this context is the search for effective methods and technologies of social work with this category of citizens and their families. The researchers note that the activities of a specialist in social work with combatants and their families include a number of specific areas that contain goals, objectives and mechanisms of work. The most demanded is the study of the specifics of social work with war veterans and their families in the context of a special military operation in the border region (Kursk).

The purpose. To study the specifics of social work with war veterans and their families in the context of a special military operation in the border region (Kursk).

Objectives. Based on theoretical analysis and familiarity with the regulatory framework, to develop and conduct an empirical study of the demand for the use of social work technologies with combatants and their families; based on the analysis of the research results, to describe the advantages and problems of using social work technologies with combatants and their families.

Methodology. Theoretical analysis of literature, questionnaires, work with documents. Results. The analysis of the results of the respondents' responses showed that the most in-demand technologies for working with this category of citizens are individual counseling and psychotherapy (100%). Group work is used by 80% of employees. Family therapy is provided by 75% of the staff. The main content of the work is solving problems of interpersonal relations (95%). Socio-pedagogical correction is used in working with combatants and their families by 65% of the respondents surveyed. Vocational rehabilitation technologies are in demand by 100% of respondents. 100% of the interviewed employees provide legal and financial assistance to the participants of the hostilities and their families. The subjects identified observation (76.12%) and analysis (43.86%) as methods of social work with participants in hostilities and their families. One third of the surveyed specialists consider information technologies to be in demand (34.12%).

Conclusion. The analysis of the research results allowed us to describe the advantages and problems of using social work technologies with combatants and their families. The following advantages can be highlighted: improved accessibility of services (technologies allow access to social assistance and support both at the place of residence and in the places of residence of a combatant); effective communication between social workers and this category of clients, facilitating the exchange of information and coordination of actions); improving the efficiency of social services and providing assistance and support to this category of clients. As a problem, it is possible to identify a lack of awareness of this category of clients in the provision of services by these social institutions.
