Дети, воспитывающиеся в учреждениях интернатного типа, получают тип воспитания и восприятие окружающей среды по иному, чем дети, воспитывающиеся в семье. Актуальность исследования обусловлена влиянием когнитивного развития ребёнка на дальнейшее восприятие и понимание информации окружающего мира. Цель исследования: изучить проблему когнитивного развития детей, воспитывающихся в учреждениях интернатного типа. Данная статья посвящена теоретическому анализу последствий опыта проживания и развития детей в данных учреждениях. Обсуждаются проблемы когнитивного развития и наличия отличительного набора проблем у детей, воспитывающихся в учреждениях интернатного типа и у детей, воспитывающихся в семье. В результате исследования, дано определение понятию «когнитивное развитие» и выявлены факторы, влияющие на успешность данного развития; рассмотрены исследования отечественных и зарубежных учёных, направленных на изучение негативных последствий ранней социальной депривации, влияющей на развитие ребёнка. Теоретический анализ данной проблемы позволит увидеть однородность и неоднородность мнений учёных относительно обсуждаемой проблемы, поскольку не все дети, сталкивающиеся с подобными обстоятельствами, развиваются аналогичным образом.
